Monkey Island with Panay Dive Safaris
These day trips and overnight stays are also available as dive safaris.
One of our most popular safaris is the 2-dive day trip with BBQ lunch at the beautiful beach and drinks on the way back to Boracay.
Due to the variety of sites, a 2-day trip including a night dive is also an ideal way for a group to complete the 5 dives of the Advanced Open Water course.
PANAY AREA DIVES
Depth: Varies; 5 - 40m; Ability Level: All; Travel Time: 30 minutes
Panay Island offers 9 dive sites around half an hour by boat from Boracay. The wall dives along the island are spectacular with shallow plateaus dropping off to between 25m and 40m depending on the site. The topography of the walls varies, some with enormous boulders (Nasog Point), some with many holes hiding critters (Dog Drift), others with sheer walls covered in soft and hard corals (Buruanga Point). These wall dives offer the best chance to see the big marine life, with sightings of whale sharks and manta rays being reported at certain times of the year. Panay also provides rocky pinnacle dive sites and shallower reefs, so there is something for everyone. This area is home to a huge number of fish varieties: triggerfish, sweetlips, angelfish, puffers, butterflyfish, lionfish, grouper, snapper and batfish. In the blue there is a chance to see jacks, tuna and barracuda. At the bottom of the shallower walls on the sandy bottom, stingrays can sometimes be found. And for those who love macro, many types of nudibranch and eels can also be discovered.
