You can take the plunge in just half a day with this experience. Discover Scuba Diving involves a 20-minute DVD, a pool session to practice with the equipment and a beautiful dive on a coral reef, all under the close supervision of a PADI Instructor.

Since you’ll love this experience, you’ll likely want to get your PADI licence, and the pool session and dive can count towards your training. Or you can go straight ahead and start the PADI licence immediately.

Having fun learning divingPADI OPEN WATER DIVER

This course is an exciting and rewarding experience where you learn to use scuba equipment, plan dives, then get wet and enjoy the wonderful reefs and fish life! The course includes 5 knowledge sections, 5 pool sessions to practice diving skills, and 4 dives in the sea with your instructor to hone skills and have fun. The course takes 3 to 4 days, and after successful completion you earn your PADI card, allowing you to dive to 18m with a qualified buddy (12m with a parent, guardian or PADI professional for 10- and 11-year-old Junior Open Water Divers). The card is recognized around the world and is valid for life!

  • Minimum Age: 10 years old
  • Pre-requisites: Be able to swim 200 meters
  • Inclusions: Learning materials, dive equipment rental, training sessions, 5 pool dives, 4 ocean dive, PADI certification with Project AWARE card

Enhanced buoyancy skillsPADI NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC OPEN WATER DIVER

As a National Geographic Dive Center, Calypso can offer an extended PADI Open Water course to include National Geographic Diver. During your additional dive(s) you will master enhanced buoyancy skills, learn navigation techniques, identify reef life and carry out an exploration project of a dive site. This is an exciting course that will equip you with better dive skills and increase your enjoyment of the underwater world.

Having fun learning divingPADI SCUBA DIVER

If you don’t have quite enough time to complete the Open Water course, then you can begin your training and earn the PADI Scuba Diver licence. This includes the first 3 knowledge sections, first 3 pool sessions and first 2 dives in the sea. After successful completion you earn your PADI card allowing you to dive to 12m under the supervision of a PADI Divemaster or Instructor. Again, the card is recognized world-wide and is valid for life, and you can continue your education with the remaining knowledge, pool sessions and dives to upgrade to PADI Open Water Diver at any time.

  • Minimum Age: 10 years old
  • Pre-requisites: Be able to stay afloat for 10 minutes
  • Inclusions: Learning materials, dive equipment rental, training sessions, 3 pool dives, 2 ocean dive, PADI certification with Project AWARE card
  • Approximate Time: 2 days

REFERRALS & UPGRADES

For those PADI Scuba Divers wanting to continue to Open Water, we offer the upgrade program. You should bring your Scuba Diver certification card, log book, PADI Manual and RDP table (or eRDP or computer).

We also accept referral divers with PADI paperwork signed by their previous Instructor so long as the last training session was within 12 months. You should bring with you the official referral form called PADI Open Water Diver Course Record and Referral Form, RDP table (or eRDP or computer) and any other paperwork given to you by your instructor. We recommend that you send us a scan of your Course Record and Referral Form so that we can confirm which referral program you need to complete before you book your course. IMPORTANT NOTE:
Anyone who wishes to engage in a PADI course where there will be in-water activities must complete the RSTC Medical Statement which includes a Divers Medical Questionnaire.
